DON RIDDEL: Welcome back. The Ottawa Senators have drawn first plight in their eastern conference final series against the top seated Buffalo Sabres. They were by far the better team too, but it's far too early to celebrate just yet. Having said that, it's the first time the Sabres have thrown a series during this first season and they look nothing like the team that won an NHL best 53 games during the regular season. Mike Fisher put Ottawa one up in the first period and they were leading two-nil before the Sabres got on the score board, their equalizer came from Maxim Afinogenov and in the second period Buffalo drew level with a goal from Toni Lydman. That was their lot though, Ottawa out shot them by thirty four to twenty and the Senators ended up cruising to an easy win. Dean McAmmond helped make the go ahead goal in the third throwing the park in for Oleg Saprykin who steered it in for a three-two lead. Buffalo committed nineteen turnovers during the game and while Ottawa might not be celebrating just yet, these wins should have given them a lot of confidence. Jason Spezza on target there, in a five-two victory.
